Regular twists are big and hard to handle. Sometimes you just want a micro loc twist pattern without all the hassle of having to twists up all those precise coils. Luckily Dr. JoAnne has got you covered with her patented Sisterlocks!

WHAT ARE SISTERLOCKS

Sisterlocks are a twisted hairstyle closely resembling a twist and micro loc hybrid. Sister locs are created with a patented tool that starts the twisting pattern at the tips of the hair and back to the root.

The twisted locs typically get completed by a trained sister loc professional. The separation of sections is mapped very strategically with a hair grid to ensure a very uniform and exquisite look.

WHERE DID SISTER LOCS ORIGINATE

Sisterlocks is a company and a hairstyle. Sisterlocks the company was trademarked in 1993 by Dr. JoAnne Cornwell. “Sisterlocks invites women who are interested in self-empowerment and cultural self-expression to embrace a natural hair care system that is self-affirming and truly gorgeous.”

THE BENEFITS OF SISTERLOCKS

Not only are sisterlocks a stylish look, but they help maintain all of your kinky and frizzy hair. The hairstyles utilize your natural hair and a holding twist pattern that is not unraveling. This allows your own hair to continue to grow and be washed while looking great and avoiding slippage.
